Seen & Heard

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the chance to appear live on Good Morning Texas to discuss essential cybersecurity practices for those working remotely. I shared key tips on creating strong passwords, implementing multi-factor authentication, and recognizing phishing attempts, helping viewers stay secure as they adjusted to working from home.

During the pandemic, I was featured on CBS 17 My Carolina, where I shared strategies for staying focused and productive while working or learning from home. I discussed effective time management, creating a dedicated workspace, and maintaining mental well-being during this challenging period. The segment aimed to help viewers adapt to new routines and stay on track in a remote environment.

In this WRAL segment, I share practical advice to help viewers stay safe while shopping online during the busy holiday season. I highlight key strategies like using strong passwords, enabling multifactor authentication, and recognizing potential scams. The video focuses on empowering individuals with straightforward tips to safeguard their personal and financial information during one of the most active shopping periods of the year.

I had the privilege of discussing online safety strategies with WRAL during Amazon Prime Day. From using complex passwords to implementing multi-factor authentication, we highlighted the importance of cyber-education in safeguarding personal information. Cyber education is essential because it equips individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize risks, make informed decisions, and protect themselves from online threats and scams.

Being safe online while holiday shopping is crucial to protect personal and financial information from cyber threats. Cybercriminals often exploit the increased online activity during the season, attempting to steal sensitive data. Vigilance helps prevent identity theft, financial loss, and ensures a secure and enjoyable shopping experience.

During times of economic recession, the IT sector experiences both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, companies may reduce their IT budgets and postpone investments in new technologies due to financial constraints. This can lead to a slowdown in IT projects, job losses, and a decrease in demand for IT services. Additionally, businesses might focus on cost-cutting measures, such as consolidating IT infrastructure or outsourcing certain IT functions.

Flashback!

Back in 2006, I was living in my apartment on Long Island, NY, waiting for my girlfriend to get ready so we could head out for the evening. While waiting (patiently, of course), I had Suze Orman on TV—because, let’s face it, understanding money is important!

During the show, an ad popped up inviting viewers to submit a question. On a whim, I sent one in, not thinking much of it. A few days later, I got a call from MSNBC. I honestly thought it was a prank—what we used to call a “false phone call back in the day.” But after a quick chat, the next thing I knew, a limo arrived to take us to Manhattan!

Here’s the kicker: on national TV, Suze and I may or may not have gently (or not-so-gently) blamed my girlfriend for a few financial habits. I didn’t tell her about this at the time, and she didn’t find out until months later when the episode aired. Thankfully, she forgave me—she even married me!
